Oliver (Rocky) Sheridan

NAPA - It is with a sad heart we announce the passing of Oliver (Rocky) Sheridan of Napa, CA. He passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, of natural causes.
Rocky was born on March 7, 1933 to parents, Charles Philip Sheridan and Verna Emma (Hoffman) Sheridan in San Francisco. Rocky graduated from Napa High School in 1951. He later joined the U.S. Army in 1952, and was honorably discharged in 1955. He retired from Mare Island Naval Shipyard after a 30 year career and was a machinist by trade and a planner/estimator at the time of his retirement.
After retiring, he was a volunteer for many years. He served over ten years with the Solano County Children's Nurturing Project and was on the Board of Directors. Rocky was involved with the Napa Senior Center Advisory Commission; he was a member of NARFE, AFL-CIO, and the Navy Yard Association (as Director). He also had done security work for the Napa Valley Country Club. He was a member of New Life Napa for many years.
Rocky was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Oleda Sheridan (married 52 years); his sister, Charlotte Larsen; and his grandson, Jonathan Sheridan. He is survived by his son, Douglas Sheridan; his step-daughter, Juanita Darlene Davidson; his grandchildren, Ron, Frank (Melody) and David Davidson, Heather Sheridan and Jeannette Warner; eight great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Tulocay Cemetery on March 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to New Life Napa church in Rocky's name.
