Today marks one year that I've not had my sweet Momma with me. It still seems impossible. I miss her so very deeply! There was so much about her that was so wonderful. She was a fantastic cook and baker, a talented crafter and seamstress, an inspirational speaker and storyteller, a really great melodious alto, a gracious and thoughtful hostess, a precious godly mother and trustworthy friend. My heart is still broken, yet I'm so glad to have had her in my life and in the lives of my husband and children, even for just a while. I love you, Momma, and will see you again. I know you've been having a glorious time. ?

Such a beautiful lady and so talented. We have been praying for you and your loved ones. I know it must seem longer than a month without her in your life. It has only been 6 days since my Mom passed but seems much longer. Love to your family,

Mandy,
Please come back to the Daughter's Group when you are ready. I miss you.
With death, that part of you that was given to your mother in love may feel like it has been violently wrenched from your being. It is a very confusing time, and everything may feel like it is "out of control".
Because you have loss two family members, you have also loss a familiar family structure. Each family member will now be forced to re-evaluate their relationships within the new family. There are many losses on many levels, some that might not show up until sometime in the future. Feelings of grief will ebb and flow over the rest of your life. I know it probably doesn't feel like it will ever "be ok" again, but it will, one day at a time.

Dear Jack and Mandy,
I am deeply sorry for your loss.
My sweet mother Anne and I had the pleasure of meeting you and your beautiful wife in November at the Naples Zoo during Elephant Fest. During our brief visit your love for Jeanne and the gentle care you gave her were so apparent -- she glowed with the tenderness of your attention.
May you find comfort in the memory of your devotion to her and her needs, putting them above your own. And may you find comfort in the sure knowledge that she is in heaven with God, both looking upon you to succor you in your time of sorrow.
