Janet Gargiulo Obituary

Janet C. Gargiulo

Naples, FL

Janet Celestine Gargiulo passed away peacefully at her home on March 14, 2017 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dewey Gargiulo.

Janet was born August 2, 1931 in Allentown, PA. She went to college in Philadelphia where she met her husband Dewey. In 1952 they moved to Ft. Myers, FL, and in 1964 to Naples. Together they are survived by three children, Jeff, John, and Lisa, 9 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Janet was involved in many Naples activities including the Heart Ball, and providing Christmas gifts for farmworker children. She was an avid golfer and chaired many golfing events including president of the Naples Woman golfers at Royal Poinciana golf Club. Along with her husband Dewey, they were an iconic part of early Naples History. Janet's outgoing and friendly personality was welcoming to many new Naples residents.

A private celebration is planned at a later date.
