CHRISTINE MAYER Obituary

Christine Ann Mayer, 65, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at home. She is survived by her husband, John Mayer.

Born on Aug. 4, 1957, in Scranton, she is the daughter of Charles Harris Jr. and the late Helen Durdan Harris.

Christine was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School in 1975 and went on to further her education at Bloomsburg University.

One quality that truly endeared Christine to others was her innate ability to give perfect gifts. She always made them personalized and special. Christine had an uncanny knack for selecting presents that would bring joy to their recipients. Her thoughtful gestures warmed the hearts of countless individuals over the years.

Family was incredibly important to Christine, and she relished in the role of being a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with her grandson and reveled in his laughter and curiosity. Christine's unwavering support and affection provided a strong foundation for their bond, making each interaction precious and memorable. Keeping her entire family close and celebrating every birthday and holiday with everyone, made her a keystone in the family arc, keeping their traditions alive.

In addition to cherishing time with family, Christine had several hobbies that brought her immense joy. She delighted in gardening and canning with her husband, daughter, and son-in-law to prep food for each winter. Additionally, she devoted countless hours to learning the art of quilting with her daughter. Together they became master fabric collectors, and designed their masterpieces together.

One of Christine's proudest accomplishments was founding her own soap business with her daughter. With dedication and creativity, they meticulously crafted unique and luxurious products that captivated the senses.

Christine left each one of her family members with thousands of beautiful memories they will cherish the rest of their lives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter Kristen Posten and husband Brian; son John Mayer; sisters: Elizabeth Harris, and Patricia Makowski (husband Raymond); brothers: Charles Harris, John Harris, George Harris and husband Jeff Harris, and Christopher Harris; grandson Tyler Posten; neices: Kolia, Brittany, Lindsey and husband Devin, and Hannah Rio; and nephews: C.J., and Zach.

Christine Mayer's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who were touched by her presence.

Funeral services will be held privately.
