Robert Goble Obituary

Robert H. Goble Sr., 79, of Tunkhannock, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Golden living Center Tunkhannock after an illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Loretta Ball, in 2008.
He was born in Centermoreland, son of the late Howard and Helen Stanley Goble.
He worked for Louden Hill Farm in Dimock in the Creamery for many years. He was a member of the East Lemon United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Lake Carey Sportsmen Club. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He loved hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed racing stock cars at the Herb Harvey Track and was known to be an excellent cook, for game dinners and family outings.
He was preceded in death by his son, David; a sister Jean Welch; a granddaughter Amy Miller Zapolski; and a great-great grandson.
The family would like to thank the staff at Golden living Center in Tunkhannock for the excellent care given to their father.
He is survived by two sons: Robert of Tunkhannock, and Brian and his wife Gail of Gibson; four daughters: Brenda Smith and her husband Rick of Auburn Center, Cindy Shiffer and her husband George of Meshoppen, Penny Alden and her husband Jim of Kingsley, and Ginger Miller and her husband Roger of Dalton; a sister, Delores Yorke of Colorado; 10 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Warren Hotel, 46 Warren St. Tunkhannock. For on-line condolences please visit aplitwinfuneralhomes.com
