Sally Jo Benscoter, 64 of Wyalusing, formally of Laceyville, passed away on Monday evening, Feb. 21, 2022, at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
Sally was born in Laceyville on May 5, 1957, the daughter of the late Neil R. Benscoter (d. May 22, 1993) and Janice M. Fiske Benscoter (d. Oct. 20, 2012).
Sally grew up on the family farm on Edinger Hill, outside of Laceyville. She was a graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School with the class of 1975.
For many years, Sally Jo was employed at the Meshoppen Dress Factory, and later she was employed as a home health aide at Smith's Personal Care Home in Wyalusing. Being an aide at Smith's was a job that she loved and took great joy of caring for her patients.
In her spare time, Sally Jo loved playing bingo at many places including her favorite place at the Turning Stone Casino in Syracuse, N.Y. In her younger days, she loved bowling on many teams in many bowling leagues. She always enjoyed all the time that she got to spend with her family and friends.
Surviving are her two sons: Eric Benscoter (Amanda Allison) of Laceyville, and Kaleb Spencer, of Beavertown; her sister and brothers: Cathy Benscoter, of Laceyville, Emery 'Mick' (Julie) Benscoter, of Springville, Jerry (Jackie) Benscoter, of Laceyville, and Carl (Terry) Benscoter also of Laceyville; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside memorial services will take place at a later date in the Benscoter Family Cemetery in West Auburn at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Park Place Activity Fund. 62 Riverside Drive, Wyalusing, PA 18853.
