Carlos Colon Obituary
Newark - Carlos Efrian "Charlie" Colon Sr. 81, of Newark, died Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Altercare North. He was born October 1, 1937 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to the late Rosendo and Hilaria (Ojeda Ayala) Colon.
Charlie retired from Denison University in 2013. He was a past Commissioner and Treasurer of the Norwalk, CT Housing Authority. He also worked as a police officer in Norwalk, CT and an electrician. He was active in city politics and enjoyed wood working and collecting miniature train sets.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Barbara; six children, Melody (Todd) Valencia of Tunnel Hill, GA, Patricia (Gregory) Sedia of RSM, CA, Mary (Bruce Bomely) Colon of Newtown, CT, Elizabeth (Lester) Wilson of Wurtsboro, NY, Charles (Cheryl) Colon Jr. of Rehoboth, MA, and David Colon of Carlsbad, CA; step son, Gregory (Kris) Stalling of Heath, OH; 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters, Magdalena Colon and Nuveldy Colon both of Indiana; and one brother, Angelo Colon of Las Vegas, NV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Carol Iannacone Colon; and brother, Uriel Colon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, OH 43058.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Brucker- Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st St. Newark. Funeral services and burial will take place in Norwalk, CT.

Grandpa,
I am going to miss you dearly. You were the best grandpa ever! You would always dance with me and make me laugh, and you made sure to never let me forget how much you loved me.
