He was a custodian at West Craven High School for over 15 years and a member of St. John A.M.E. Zion Church in Fort Barnwell, where he served on the trustee and steward boards.
The funeral will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at St. John A.M.E. Zion Church, Fort Barnwell, with the Rev. P. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Estates, Grifton.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel Carrie Franks Moore; three daughters, the Rev. Barbara White and Rose Cogdell of Grifton, and Willa Bottley of Las Vegas; two sons, Herlis Moore of Grifton and Fredie Moore Jr. of Kinston; two sisters, Aletha Cannon of California and Almeta Moore of Greenville; one brother, Clifton Moore of Grifton; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
