James is survived by his wife, Wanda Sue "Susie" Beasley.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at Forest Oaks Memorial Gardens in Havelock.
Arrangements are by Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory.
