Rose Skowronek Tockstein

NEW BERN - Rose Skowronek Tockstein, a former resident of New Bern, passed away on December 16, 2013 in Hackettstown, NJ at her residence in Heath Village. She was born August 1, 1916 in Chicago, IL and lived in the Chicago area for much of her early life. She lived many years in Golden's Bridge, New York before moving to New Bern. During her years in New Bern she was active in the River Bend community and at Christ Episcopal Church. Mrs. Tockstein moved to New Jersey in 2000.

Mrs. Tockstein was preceded in death by her husband, George, her grandson, Robert Plemel, five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her three children, Mary (Timothy) Callahan of Winthrop Harbor, IL, George C. (Robin) Tockstein of South Salem, NY, and Rose (Robert) Peterson of Hackettstown, NJ; her sister, Adeline Rein of Salt Lake City, UT; seven grandchildren, Theresa Plemel Kara Totaro, Alyson Tockstein, Alexandra Tockstein, Steven Peterson, David Peterson and Marisa Peterson; two great-granddaughters, Gabriella and Adriana Totaro, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Christ Episcopal Church in New Bern, NC, followed by interment at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
