Gabriel Gorski Obituary

It is with great sadness the family of Gabriel Gorski announces his passing on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, in Poland. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at home. He was born on Feb. 12, 1938, in Poland to the late Jozefa Kukla and Franciszek Gorski and predeceased by his son John Gorski, grandson Daniel Gorski, brothers Walter Gorski of England, Stanislaw Gorski of Poland, and Leon Gorski of Poland and the US. He will be remembered by his loving wife Franciszka (Stec) of 61 years and his children, Andrew Gorski and wife Linda, Jozef Gorski, and Barbara Zabbara. His children were the lights of his life. His grandchildren, Robert Gorski, John Traceski, Michael Gorski, Alicia Gorski, and Jessica Gorski, great nice Joanna Gorski, and great grandchildren Christopher, Aiden, and Ariana whom he loved and adored. His godchildren, Adam Gorski and his wife Margaret, Malgorzata Sothia of Canada, and Lucyna Rut who were like his own children. He also leaves behind his sister-in law Maria Gorski, and many relatives and friends in the US and Poland.
He moved to Ansonia with his wife and three children in 1966 when he was twenty-eight years of age and a few years later to his adopted hometown of New Britain where he lived with his family for the last fifty years. He loved Poland and visited his birthplace every year to enjoy quality time with his relatives and friends. He had a great life filled with love and adventure. We will miss his smile and his passion for making others laugh. He was well known for his "Goral" folk outfit that he used to put on to entertain and make others laugh playing a guitar at many Polish events and celebrations on Broad Street in New Britain.
He was employed by Farrel Corporation in Ansonia when he arrived in the US in 1966, and then by Atlantic Tool before joining Stanley Black & Decker where he spent most of his working years until he retired.
His body was laid to rest in his native Poland but his heart remains in the US with us. He was a long time parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain. The family fully understands that many who would otherwise like to honor him with their presence would not be able to do so because of the present global situation.
In lieu of other considerations, it is Gabriel Gorski's greatest wish that each of us would smile and perform a simple act of kindness in his memory.
