Mary Clifford Obituary

Mary Ann Clifford
June 29
Mary Ann (Ann) Clifford (nee Taylor), 81, of New Milford passed away June 28, 2021 at her home.
Ann was born August 29, 1939, to Norah and Ambrose Taylor in Birmingham, England. Her family moved to Ardrossan, Scotland after the end of World War II. She emigrated to New York City in 1960 where she married Bill Clifford in 1961. The couple raised their five children in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn before moving to New Milford in 1995. Ann was an avid gardener and was on the executive board of the New Milford Garden Club. In addition, her time at home was spent knitting, caning chairs and cooking. She loved acrostics, crossword puzzles and word games. She often was playing a dozen or more Words With Friends games at any time.
More than that, she loved visiting her family: her children and their families in the tri-state area; and, her brothers and their families in England and Scotland.
She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Margaret, her husband Bill and her son Billy. She is survived by her brothers Phil and Chris, her children Kathy, Andrew, David and Mary Ann and their spouses and her grandchildren, David, Brendan, Norah, Leah, Kailey and Chelsea.
There will be a funeral mass for Ann at St. Patrick's church in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and she will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island.

So sad to learn of Ann's death. We were school friends and shared fond childhood memories from school days. I will miss those funny emails and will never forget the last time we met on her visit home. How we laughed!

I was so shocked and saddened when I heard about the death of Ann. We shared many conversations about her family in Brooklyn, where she often visited, and others both here and abroad.
She was a wonderful member of the New Milford Garden Club. We worked together on several projects. I will greatly miss her.

I am so sorry for the loss of this extremely wonderful person in your life! I am a member of the garden club, and just by chance was worried about her today,i had not heard from her and we work together. I and Ann Stone (president) are in shock and extremely sad. Can someone in the family, if up to it, please contact me? 203-917-9663
