Susan Friese Obituary

Friese, Susan P.
Susan Patricia Friese was born on August 27, 1957 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. She passed away peacefully on November 9th in New Milford Hospital with family members at her side. Susan now rests forever in her heavenly domain.
A kind and loving person, Susan's beaming smile lifted the hearts of those she cared for. Willing to confront any and all challenges, she possessed a courageous tenacity admired by all who were touched by her life.
Susan grew up in Palos Verdes Estates, on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in California. She was very much a part of the idyllic beauty surrounding her. Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, amidst the palms, and giant eucalyptus trees, Susan looked from her bedroom window to view the yearly migration of Blue Whales in the Fall to the warm water of Mexico and then back in the Spring to California. Each summer Susan took great pride in participating in Special Olympic Events. She loved animals...her dog Boots, her cat Travis and 100 year old desert turtle "Rock" and younger brother named "Pebbles". In 1973, Susan moved with her family to Briarcliff Manor, NY. She graduated from Briarcliff High School in 1975. After graduation, she was employed by People's Westchester Bank. In 1988, she moved back to Palm Desert, California where she held jobs with local businesses. Later in life she was employed by Walmart, Kimberly-Clark and most recently, Big Lots. Pre-deceased by her mother Patrica Ford Friese, she is survived by her father, Richard P. Friese of Stamford, CT, her brother Richard P. Friese, Jr, of North Beach, NJ, sister Robin Friese Powell of Brookfield, CT and sister Wendy Friese of New Milford, CT. She is also survived by her step brother James P. Selvage and her step sister Pamela C. Reilly. She is survived by her nieces Carly Friese, Audrey Powell, and Carlin Reilly as well as nephews Jack Powell, Eric Selvage and Charles and Christopher Reilly.
A service will be held on Saturday, November 15th at 10:30am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Brookfield, CT.
Donations can be made in Susan's name to Friends of New Milford, 238 Chestnut Land Road, New Milford, CT 06776.

I had the pleasure of working with Susan and Big Lots. No matter what she always had a smile on her face. She was one tough cookie. Willing to do anything you asked her. She always talked to me about her animals. I send my condolences and may you rest in peace. Big Lots will not be the same without you coming to visit.
