MAHOMET - Caleb M. Mason, 23, of Mahomet died on Dec. 18, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Friends may greet the family from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Mahomet Christian Church, 908 N. Lake of the Woods Road, Mahomet. Burial will be private.
Caleb was born Jan. 17, 2001, in Urbana, to Randy and Janis (Stauffer) Mason. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bill Stauffer, and his paternal grandfather, Bob Mason, along with two uncles and a cousin. Caleb's mother, Jan, and his sister, Sara, died with him on Dec. 18.
He is survived by his father, Randy (Veronica) of Mexico; maternal grandmother, Lucille Stauffer; paternal grandmother, Jean Mason; six aunts and five uncles, along with many cousins and friends too numerous to count.
Caleb was a 2019 graduate of Mahomet-Seymour High School. He participated in the marching band where was part of the drumline on the 5-tenor drum configuration. Caleb was a part of the track team, including running cross country. He also participated in plays and musicals as part of the drama club. Upon graduation, Caleb attended the University of Illinois focusing on Computer Science. He worked at JT Walker's, Chophouse and most recently at Texas Roadhouse, where he was a greatly loved part of the team and known to give his younger customers a little extra ice cream.
Caleb was a kind and loving person that was quick to make friends and coworkers laugh. Caleb loved spending time with his family, including the family dogs Gunner and Georgia, and his cat Squeaker. Caleb's creativity, sweet disposition, and ability to bring joy to others will be greatly missed.
