Harold Draper Obituary

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Harold Hugh Draper died July 20, 2007, in Melbourne, Florida, aged 83. Born in rural Manitoba, he enjoyed a satisfying career in research and education, as professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and as professor and chairman of the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Guelph.

Survived by wife, Kathleen of Guelph, Ontario; son, Geoffrey, daughter-in-law, Sharon Bresser, and grandsons, Michael and Andrew (A.J.) Draper of Melbourne, Florida; daughter, Barbara Haynes and grandchildren, Julia and Douglas Haynes of Whitby, Ontario.

A small family service will take place with interment in Virden, Manitoba. Contributions to student scholarships, the preservation of nature or organizations that advance global quality of life would be fitting memorial tributes if desired.

Barb, Mom called this morning and told me about your dad. I am so sorry. I remember the playhouse he built for us and the hours of fun we had in it.I remember him gardening and the beautiful flowers the yard had and picking some bug out of the trees and him paying us a penny a bug. Can't remember what they were called. Staci
