SAVOY - Marjorie J. Hatfield, 88, of Savoy, formerly of Tolono and Charleston, passed away at 8:41 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 25, 2023) at Reflections Memory Care, Savoy.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Freese Funeral Home, 407 N. Bourne St., Tolono. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home with the Rev. Tabitha Nelson officiating. Entombment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Champaign.
Mrs. Hatfield was born July 16, 1935, in Keokuk, Iowa, a daughter to Ted and Mildred Betts Glasgow. She married Jack Hatfield on July 18, 1952, in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2015.
Surviving are three children, Brad (Polly) Hatfield of Champaign, Bruce (Paula) Hatfield of Mahomet and Shelley (Kevin) Frye of Monticello; eight grandchildren, Coartney (Brad) Siuts of Tolono, Adam (Savannah) Hatfield of Tolono, Kristina (Justin) Huisinga of Monticello, Haley (Andrew) Havenga of Crystal Lake, Hillary (Justin) Adams of Cape Town, South Africa, Kaci (Marshall) Graham of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Aubrey Frye of Chicago and Skyler Frye of Monticello; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Midge Rader of Keokuk.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Fred and Charles "Jobie" Glasgow.
Her life revolved around her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and activities.
Memorials may be made to the EIU Foundation for the Jack K. and Marjorie J. Hatfield endowed scholarship fund benefiting Unity High School students majoring in business. Brad & Family: We, Jane and I, are so very sorry for your loss. We wish we could be with you at this time, but we are getting ready to leave on a Bus trip, but our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
