Ruth Horath Obituary
TUSCOLA - Ruth LaVerne Shobe Horath, 83, of Tuscola died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 24, 2010) at Douglas Rehabilitation Center, Mattoon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Freese Funeral Home, 407 N. Bourne, Tolono, with visitation two hours prior to services from noon to 2 p.m. Burial will be in Craw Cemetery, Sadorus. The Rev. Jerry Conner will officiate.
She was born on Aug. 9, 1926, at Lerna, the daughter of Henry and Myrtle Day Shobe. She married Norman Dale Horath on Oct. 26, 1945, at Charleston. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, David A. Horath and wife Debra of Tuscola; a daughter, Connie L. Bonner and husband Steve of Tolono; three sisters, Margaret Osborn of Mattoon, Helen Elder of Trilla and Evelyn McArthur of Charleston; and sister-in-law Katherine Shobe of Casey; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Dale Horath and Larry James Horath; a brother, Kenneth Shobe; and a sister, Norma Shobe.
Mrs. Horath lived in Tuscola and Hindsboro.
