Ronald Guzzo Obituary

Ronald Joseph "Ronnie" Guzzo, Sr., 71, died at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, on Sunday, March 29, 2015.
Born May 8, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, he graduated from Collinwood High School in 1962. He later married and raised a family in Willoughby, where he resided since 1975. Highlights in his career included working as an independent painter, working at Ohio Crankshaft, TRW, McDonnell Douglas, Steris, and for the FAA.
Ronnie was an avid car enthusiast, and could be found at many car shows at the local diners, regional swap meets, and even just hanging out in the garage of his friend, Frankie Farroni. As an artist, he had a uniquely creative style of painting, woodworking, designing, and decorating. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing softball, volleyball, working on cars, dancing, and taking his kids out to the park or to various Parents Without Partners (PWP) social events.
He was young at heart, and always enjoyed music, movies, and laughing with family and friends. He loved meeting new people, but always made time to keep in touch with old friends. And he was appreciative of close friends who were with him through many very difficult times, especially Joyce Boyd, Judy Bennett (deceased), Terry Shelton, and Donna Bunsey.
Survivors include his father, Joseph Samuel Guzzo, Sr.; brother, Joseph (Beverly) Guzzo of Nevada; his four children, Ronni Carolene (John) Ballard of North Carolina, Ronald Joseph "Moose" (Jane), Jr. of North Carolina, Rodney Jason "Chip" of Willoughby, and Robin Cori (Charles) Wiggins of North Carolina; six grandchildren, Joey, Lacey, Bradley, Travis, Shelby, and Corey; two nephews, Michael and Anthony; one niece, Desi; and many friends.
Ronnie was predeceased by his mother: Anna Theresa (nee Kecskemety) Guzzo.
A service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Jakubs-Danaher Funeral Home, 36000 Lake Shore Blvd., Eastlake, OH 44095; receiving of friends will begin at 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in care of the family.
