Walter Spisak Obituary
Born Sept. 15, 1939, in Cleveland, he had lived in Wickliffe for the past 44 years.
Wally was a U.S. Army veteran, member of the K of C Wickliffe Council 5405; JC's of Wickliffe, part-time firefighter in Wickliffe and the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). He loved aviation (was a licensed pilot), golf, bowling, dancing, traveling and was a Browns fan. His family remembers him as a laid back person who was comical and very friendly with everyone.
Mr. Spisak was a retired firefighter for Wickliffe.
Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Carol A. (nee Fabian); sons, Walter C. Jr. (Patricia) of Southington, John of Euclid and Christopher (Tara) of Bryan; daughter, Juliann (Todd) Herzog of Olmsted Falls; grandchildren, Franklin, Ryan, Tyler, Andrew and twins Chloe and Cade; and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Spisak. He was also a brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Anna (nee Kovach); brothers, Lawrence and Daniel; sisters, Clara Drapac and Jean Burger; and brothers-in-law, Charles Drapac and Robert Burger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at SS Robert and William Catholic Church, 367 E. 260th St., Euclid. The Rev. John Betters will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road and Route 91).
The family suggests contributions be made in Wally's memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119.

Dear Aunt Carol, Wally, Patty, Julie, Todd, Chris, Tara, and John,
I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Uncle Wally was a second Grandpa to Theresa, Sarah and Kevin. He had a heart of gold. Theresa will always feel blessed and honored to have Uncle Wally and Aunt Carol as her beloved God Parents. Your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. I regret that I am unable to espress my sympathy in person. I unfortunately am scheduled to work Wednesday evening and Thursday day shift.
