Bellman Donald Wiggins (DON) passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011, surrounded by his loving family at the Oceanside Hospice Care Center. He was born May 31, 1931 to Bellman and Ethel Wiggins in Thomasville Georgia, the second of seven children. He is survived by his wife Shirley; three sons, Gregory and his wife Kim, Phillip and his wife Marjorie and Dean; six grandchildren, Gregory, Ashley, Courtney, Rachel, Katie, Cody; four brothers, Dennis, Ronald, Fondren, Harvey; and two sisters, Donita and Faye. Throughout his life he was a loving father and husband always helping others anyway possible. Throughout his life he supported his faith and church serving in any capacity needed from maintenance to serving as a deacon. He was well known by many, first from managing the local A&P grocery store. Later he opened three grocery stores, making it a family business with his brother, Dennis and other family members. He further served the community serving 20 years in public office as a city councilman, Mayor and County Commissioner. He remarried 17 June 2006 to Shirley Gandy and they both continued to nurture our family and our faith. He was known as a friend, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Viewing will be held at Dale Woodward Funeral Home, 167 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill, FL. from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Time 1958 A&P on Beach St. Don gave me my 1st job as a bag boy & stocker. He gave me so much more during the time I worked there. A Very Important Work Ethic. I graduated Mainland in 59 & went off to the Army with 9 others, but when I came to Daytona on visit, I always visited and was warmly received in what ever He was involved in. I am looking forward to seeing Him again in Heaven because that is where I am going and I know with out a doubt he is already there.

To Shirley and the Wiggins family we extend our deepest sympathy. Don was always pleasant company. We recall many good conversations and good laughs with him, both in Florida and here in South Carolina when he visited.

Uncle Don, you will always be remembered as an amazing and loving man. You did so much for so many people. Your impact went much farther than you would have ever believed. We'll see you one day. Until then, enjoy the reunion with Granny, Aunt Norma, and Connie.
