Eleanor Holt Obituary

Eleanor M. Holt, 93, Port Orange, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, her loving daughter, Barbara, and son-in-law, George Stackpole, at her side. She was born in New York City and lived for many years in New Hyde Park, Long Island before moving to Port Richey, Fla., and then to Port Orange. Eleanor loved the ocean and enjoyed playing golf and writing poetry. She was a member of the Senior Group at South Daytona and Christian Church were she enjoyed playing various games. She was a playful and engaging woman and she will be missed. She is survived also by her daughter, Mickey Zimmerman and partner, Ellen Bock, Connecticut; son, Tony M. Zimmerman Jr. and wife Kathy, Connecticut; grandchildren, Barbara and husband, Mike Neuzil, George II, Kevin, Laura, Kristin and Anthony; and four great-grandchildren, Chris, Alex, Mia and A.J. Eleanor's family would like to thank the caring staff of Horizon Health Care and Hospice of Volusia County for all the comfort, support and love they gave during Eleanor's illness. Arrangements are under the care and trust of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32129.
