Robert Perlitz Obituary

Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Robert Perlitz, Jr., 74, of Palm Coast, who passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, will be Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. A visitation will be held before Mass in the memorial room of the church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and also the night before at Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. with Military Honors. Robert was born on February 9, 1941 in Bronx, NY. He served our country honorably in the United States Marine Corps, during the Bay of Pigs and retired as a U.S. Marine Reservist. Robert also retired from the New York City Police Department. He moved to Palm Coast in 1988 from New Windsor, NY. Robert was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, United States Marine Corps League, Flagler Gun Club and 1013 Club. He loved to build things, especially building and flying his model airplanes. Robert was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Esther; sons, Lawrence of New-burgh, NY, David and his wife Laurie of Southern CA; daughter, Lisa Ragazzo of Palm Coast; sisters, Helen Fanning of Rockaway Beach, NY, Donna Labriola of West Islip, NY, Linda Gallery of Hopewell Junction, NY; grandchildren, Samantha Howell, Chris Ragazzo Jr, Anthony Ragazzo, Isabella Ragazzo, Stephen Leone, Britany Perlitz, Aiden Perlitz, Erin Perlitz. Donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project @ woundedwarriorproject.org. The family of Mr. Perlitz entrusted the arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.

My name is James Flahive I worked with Bob as a transit Patrolman in District 11. Bob was an excellent Police Officer. He was a kind and gentle soul. I am sorry I had missed his passing. I know he is in a better place now. May God Bless his family.

I had mentioned earlier that Bob and I worked together in CWAC. What I failed to mention is that we were both Marines and we shared stories of our time in boot camp and the Corps. We had a lot of laughs, he was fun to be around. Semper Fi.

My sincere condolences to the Perlitz family. Bobby and I joined the Transit Police family together and graduated from the Transit Police June 30, 1969 Academy class. From time to time Bobby and I met throughout the NYC Transit System and he always had that special smile. Rest in peace my friend, and may God Bless your family.
