Eugene Gregory Stopak

Eugene Gregory Stopak, 76, Marshfield, passed away at 7:22 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2011 in St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Gene was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Marshfield. He was a long-time employee of the Ozarks Correctional Center where he worked as a Corrections Officer.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; two sons, Gregg Marshel and his wife, Rita, Clever, MO and John Stewart and his wife, Heather, San Francisco, CA; four daughters, Cheryl Shannon and her husband, Kelly, San Clemente, CA, Andrea Marshel and Ben Beattie, Kansas City, MO, Dana Harper and her husband, Matthew, Oklahoma City, OK, and Jeannene Stewart, Marshfield; and six grandchildren, Kirsten Thomas, Emma Harper, Julia Harper, Jensen Marshel, Grey Stewart, and Holden Marshel.

A funeral mass will be held Monday, December 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Marshfield. Prayer services will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2011 in Fraker Funeral Home, Marshfield, with visitation to follow. Burial will be at a later date in the Marshfield Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus. Online condolences may be made at www.frakerfuneralhome.com.
