Paul George Mitchell

Mr. Paul George Mitchell, age 73, of Springfield, Mo., joined his Lord and Savior on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014. He was born on January 26, 1942 in Stone County, Mo., the son of Andrew and Jessie (Israel) Mitchell.

He was a graduate of Clever Schools, Clever, Mo. Paul, a retired tool and die maker, was employed with Fasco Industries, M.D. Pneumatics (now named Tuthill), and Royal Typewriter Co. He also was an avid coach for over 50 years, a statistician, and a cameraman. His interests included music and genealogy. Paul was devoted to, and will be remembered, for the many lives he touched through his 45 years of dedication to Church van ministries. He was a peacemaker above all else.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale Eugene Mitchell.

Paul is survived by his wife, Patsy (Hicks), of 53 years; a son, Jeff and his wife Christa (Custer), their daughters Alyssa and Alison, and their granddaughter, Madisyn; a daughter, Carol Diane Cooper and her husband Grady, their daughter DeNeile and son Grayson; and a brother, Charles and his family of 23. Paul had a close relationship to his and Patsy's extended family.

There will be a visitation held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2014 in the Grace Church of the Nazarene, 540 E. Walnut Lawn, Springfield, MO 65807. A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2014 in Meadors Funeral Home, Clever Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Clever. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Grace Church Youth Group (in care of the church). Online condolences may be shared at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com
