Scott Allen Bracy

The world lost an incredible young man. Scott Allen Bracy, age 49, entered heaven on January 2, 2021 surrounded by family and close friends held in love. He was an amazing son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Scott walked his own path through this world, always a loyal friend and family member. He lived life on his own terms and faced challenges head on without complaints or fear including his diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. The last year and a half proved that to anyone who was blessed enough to be in his circle. His beautiful smile and bright light will be dearly missed by all.

Throughout his life, Scott spent as much time as he possibly could outdoors - enjoying nature's beauty and all that it had to offer locally and in other parts of the country. On many occasions, Scott would stop and savour the beautiful sunsets. Friendships from his youth and adulthood have come to love and learn much from him about hunting, fishing, nature, flowers, and birds. Scott has many memories with family and friends - deer, turkey, and pheasant hunting, fishing, camping, buggy (RZR) riding, canoeing, repelling, gardening, raising cattle, and NASCAR racing. Later in his life, Scott found a new love riding (RZRs) buggies through the beautiful national forests and throwing "bags" (AKA corn hole) on the creek bed or in his shop.

Following his graduation from Ozark High School, Scott was an employee of DEBCO Construction, a family-owned and operated business. In 2004, Scott started his own business, Steward Construction LLC, specializing in upscale commercial and residential remodels. Throughout the years, he was a member of Springfield Contractors Association (SCA) and the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Springfield. Scott served on the HBA Board of Directors for several years and was an exhibitor at the annual HBA Home Show. Additionally, Scott served as the President of the Cap Hill Homeowners Association.

He is survived by his parents, Don and Marilyn Bracy (Ozark, Missouri); brother, Dean Bracy (Kansas City, Kansas); sister, Shari Bracy, Mark Nelson, and niece, Alexandra Johnson (Atlanta, Georgia); son, Elijah Bracy, daughter-in-law, Haley Dotson, and granddaughter, Audrey Kate Bracy (Ashdown, Arkansas); and many lifelong friends.
