CYRUS ABRAHAM Obituary
AUGUST 17, 2012
Cyrus "Cid" Abraham of Burton, age 86, passed away August 17, 2012 at Genesys Health Park. Cid was born in Flint on November 12, 1925, son of the late Sargis and Hannah (Simon) Abraham. He married Norma Jean Brannan in Flint on September 12, 1953. Cid proudly served his country with the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Cid retired from Consolidated Freightways. He loved woodworking and the Detroit Tigers.
Cid is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Norma; brother, Thomas Abraham of Fort Myers, FL; many nieces and nephews; very dear friends, the Walt Borkovich family and many friends in Fort Myers, FL.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Sister Berniece Matejcek officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday, 1-8 p.m. Sunday and 10-11 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Christian Church-Uganda Orphans.

Cid was a wonderful kind hearted man. Cid loved to play cards, and in his quiet way act like he didn't have anything, but boy watch out, he knew how to win. Our hearts and prayers go to Norma, and her family and friends. Cid might be gone, but he will certainly be mentioned several time once we're back in Lee Plantation.

Uncle Cid was a kind and gentle man that made me laugh as both a child and an adult. I will miss him. But the memories of the times we spent together will live with me forever. After all, how could I ever forget the dinner at the Brownwood Farmhouse, Fireworks at Traverse Bay, or bailing hay together on farm. There are too many good times to list, but they are all special.
