JOYCE COVEY Obituary

Joyce M. Covey

April 9,2011

Joyce Marie Covey, 83, of Bokeelia, Florida, born February 20, 1928 in Jamestown, NY to the late Harold and Lillian M (S?derquist) Rowley, died April 9, 2011 at Hope Hospice of Cape Coral.

Joyce graduated from Jamestown High School in the class of 1946. She retired 23 years ago from Sears, where she was in furniture sales.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #1843 in St. James City, Florida.

Joyce is survived by four children: Lynne (Jim) Myers, of Bokeelia, FL; Larry (Sylvia) Olson, of Plantation, FL; Wendy Tompsett, with whom she made her home; and Sallie Olson, of Celoron, NY, nine grandchildren: Melissa Myers, Marla Myers, Mark Myers, Michael Lewis, Michelle Lewis, Mitchell Olson, Maclean (Mickey) Olson, Matthew Olson, and Jeffrey Carlson, and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Covey; her siblings: Jane (Dan) Zollner, Robert (Doe) Rowley, and William (Marge) Rowley.

The family would like to thank RC and Mary, her neighbors and daytime caregivers, for enabling her to spend all but her last few days at home in familiar surroundings. Words cannot express the comfort that gave her.

A memorial service will be held at the Hope Hospice Chapel on Diplomat Parkway in Cape Coral, Florida on April 30, 2011 at 11 a.m., with reception to follow on at the Pine Island Loyal Order of The Moose, Lodge #1954. Donations may be made in Joyce's memory for Hope Hospice or a charity of your choice.
