Burleson, Nancy "Brooks" - of Knoxville, daughter of the late Robert Hal Brooks Sr. and Maude Elizabeth Maynard Brooks, passed away in the comfort of her Knoxville home surrounded by her loving god-daughter Lisa and good friend Sonya Pinkstaff. Brooks was passionate about boating, spending much of her time in Southwest Florida as a resident and member of Gulf Harbor Yacht and Country Club. Brooks was an avid traveler and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 29 years, David Thomas Burleson. Brooks is survived by her god-daughter Lisa O. Reed and husband, Dr. Steve Reed; stepson, Gary Burleson and wife Julienne, and Sherron D. Burleson of Jupiter, FL; step grandchildren, Chelsea B. Foster and husband Pierre, of Naples, FL, John David Burleson, of Nashville, Alex Wyrick and wife Jimena, of Jupiter, FL, Laura Wyrick, of Orlando, FL; step great grandchildren, Ethan David Foster, of Naples, FL, Lily Johnson, of Knoxville, Sebastian Wyrick, of Jupiter, FL; and dear friends, Vicki Gillenwater and Greg Green. A private graveside service will be held. Memorials may be made to Young-Williams Animal Shelter, 6400 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.
