Obituary
Robert J. Wormley, 65, of Ft. Myers Beach, died Thursday, May 30, 2002. He was the Owner/Operator of Robert Wormley Roofing Company and resided in Florida for the past 29 years. He was formerly from Steamwood, IL.
Mr. Wormley was a four year letterman at the Univ. of Illinois and played professional football with the Chicago Bears. He also played minor league baseball.
He is survived by his wife, Dee Wormley, four sons, David and Steven both of Richmond, KY; Jeffrey and Robert, both of Orlando, FL; a step-daughter, Charmaine Shepard, Ft. Myers, FL., a step-son, Bruce, Ft. Myers, an adopted step-son, Scott 'Spider' Horie, Detroit, MI., two sisters, Betty of Denver and Crete of IL., 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Rick.
Memorial services will be celebrated on Sunday, June 2, 2002 at 3:00 PM at the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.
