Sharon McDevitt Obituary

In Loving Memory of

Sharon Ruth McDevitt

Jan. 18, 1951 - Jan. 6, 2015

Captain Sharon McDevitt passed on January 6th 2015 at the age of 63. After years of battling health issues she died by a heart attack in her home. Sharon was a licensed boat captain and avid angler. Sharon's passion was fishing. She devoted as much time as she could to baiting a hook and casting a fishing rod. Sharon grew up in both Bedford, PA and Fort Myers Beach, FL. The time she spent in Fort Myers Beach is where the love of fishing and the sea became a part of her soul. Sharon also had an immense love for animals particular her dogs, Calliegh, Kokamo, Mocha, and Millie which were like her children. Sharon was a beloved angler, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed greatly. Sharon, daughter of the late Ed and Ruth McDevitt of Bedford, PA is survived by her two brothers, Eddie McDevitt and Tom McDevitt. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Sharon's honor to Animal Care Trust Fund, 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33912 or go the website at www.leelostpets.com. Sharon wished to be cremated and buried at sea. Details of the future date, time and location of her sea burial to be posted on March 1st, 2015.
