MARY ZIMMERMAN
03/04/1947 - 10/05/2025
Mary Yvonne Zimmerman, 78 of Tecumseh, Okla., went home to the Lord on Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Mary was born March 4, 1947, in Tecumseh to Reverend Henry and Doris Coppinger.
She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1965. In the following years she owned and operated Mary's Beauty Shop. Eventually, she was employed by the Tecumseh Police Department and then the Pottawatomie Sherrif's Office from where she retired.
In 1988 Mary married Fred Zimmerman and they made their home in Tecumseh. Fred and Mary were together 37 years, until her passing. They shared many adventures together, traveling extensively. They built a beautiful home and enjoyed their friends far and wide.
Mary enjoyed thumbing through her family photos, going to casinos with Fred and eating good food. She especially enjoyed her job at the sheriff's office and always knew what was going on around town.
She was a prayer warrior and never forgot a birthday or a name. Mary was a wonderful woman and mother whose kind and gentle heart impacted all who knew her. She loved people and was a friend the moment you met her. She especially loved all her grandchildren, doting on them at every opportunity.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Doris Coppinger.
