Janet Chenoweth Obituary

Janet Lynn Snyder Chenoweth Janet Lynn Chenoweth, 70, loving wife and mother, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Born in Gary, West Virginia, on October 18, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Hazel Snyder of Lynchburg and she was preceded in death by her sister, Vicki Snyder. Janet is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dennis Chenoweth; two sons, Brian Chenoweth of Abingdon, Maryland, and Kevin Chenoweth and his wife, Jenna, of Warrenton, Virginia, and their daughter, McKenna Grace, who had a special place in Janet's heart. She also leaves two wonderful aunts, Elizabeth Gibbs and Jo Elliott and their extended families, as well as her uncle Bobby Snyder and his wife Virgie of Shady Springs, W.Va. Janet worked for the Department of Agriculture for a period of time before becoming a homemaker to raise her two children. She was an active member of Haymarket Baptist Church in Haymarket, Virginia but has lived in Lynchburg for the last 10 years. She was an exemplary wife and mother who selflessly devoted her whole being to her loving family who continue to love and miss her every day. A funeral service will be conducted 7 p.m. today, Friday, August 23, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton, officiating. We would like to say a special thank you for the loving care provided to our mother by Dr. Cecilia McCallum and her wonderful staff of Lynchburg Hematology-Oncology. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations to be given to the American Cancer Society, 2050 Langhorne Rd., Suite 201, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
