Jo Gail Henry

October 11, 1945 - April 12, 2025

Jo Gail (Falwell) Henry, age 79, peacefully passed away in Columbia, Md. on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Born in Roanoke, Va., to the late Herbert B. Falwell, Jr. and Gertrude Clark Falwell, she was the older sister to Pamela Bomar, the late Robin Falwell, and Leigh Csaplar. Jo Gail married the late David M. Henry in August 1967 in Upper Marlboro, Md. She was a member of Tyreeanna United Methodist Church and spent most of her life in Lynchburg and Altavista, Va. before moving to Columbia, Md. to be near her grandchildren.

Balancing her family commitments, Jo Gail spent years in the employment of the Altavista YMCA. Her profound legacy is the hundreds of lives, from youth and adults, she influenced over the years as a staff member, swim instructor, swim coach, and friend. Jo Gail concluded her career as an accountant with VERSAR (formerly Greenwood Partnership) and Taylor Brothers before retirement.

Jo Gail is lovingly remembered by her sons, Mark Henry and his wife Paula; and Kevin Henry. She was devoted to her grandchildren, Jacob and Lauren.

Interment will be at Fort Hill Cemetery in Lynchburg, Va. to a closed family event. In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to be made in honor of Jo Gail to your favorite charitable organization.
