Kara Simpson Obituary

Kara (Woviotis) Simpson went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16th. She was born in New London, CT, on July 13, 1973, to Pano J. and Linda Schaller Woviotis. Along with her parents, she is survived by her husband, Ronnie Simpson; daughter, Haydon Francine Simpson; sister, Nicole Woviotis Kossack; brother, Alexander Woviotis; and her English bulldog, Dutch, or as she would say, "DD Bear"; along with many adoring relatives and friends.

Kara's paternal family owned the landmark establishment, The Ye Olde Tavern restaurant, and her maternal family owned the Roger Motors Cadillac & Oldsmobile dealership in New London, CT, for multiple generations.

Kara attended elementary school in Waterford and Pine Point School in Stonington, CT. She then graduated from Waterford High School in 1991, and attended Bay State College in Boston, MA.

Kara joined her family in 1992 in Boca Raton, FL, where she worked at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

Kara and her loving husband Ronnie moved to Mooresville, NC, and have resided there since 2008 and built lifelong relationships in their work lives and community. Many became like family, and they will never be forgotten.

Kara is Sunshine by definition, her loving warmth, cheer, happiness and hospitality touched everyone she met, and Kara was a wine aficionado. She had a passion for food, cooking and gardening. It was easy and effortless for her, and she loved to entertain and be with those she loved. She celebrated every day until her last breath. SHE LOVED LIFE TO THE FULLEST.

She was so present in life and love for her family it's almost as though she hasn't left us. We are all waiting for her to walk through that pool side patio door with a beaming smile on her face, distinct laughter... glass of wine in hand, ready to soak up the sun and be beautifully tan. She always glowed.

She is incredibly missed physically...but we know that we're already receiving messages and signs from Heaven. She's enjoying the "New Wine" and celebrating with our loved ones and Savior Jesus Christ.

We are asking for your prayers specifically for Haydon during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to contribute to Goose Flights.org, St. Jude's Children Hospital, or Samaritans Purse.

This just breaks my heart! I had no idea Kara was this sick. I went to Florida with ATA cheer but never did see you guys. On Sunday when yal weren´t at the cheer banquet I thought something had to be wrong. Kara was beautiful and kind. Her smile and laugh was contagious. I visited Total Wine today and picked out many of her favorite wines. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this sad time. Ronnie both you and Haydon are in our prayers. Much love, Burt and Teresa Harold

Ronnie, Haydon, and family, I am at a loss for words. I feel so fortunate to have had Kara in my life. I often told her that her laugh and smile made every day that I was with her at work better. I could hear her laugh from the back of the store all the at the front. It always made me happy.
What a joy and blessing to have known her. She was always in a great mood and never complained.
She loved her family and was so proud of "Haydon". Heaven gained an angel. Thoughts and prayers to all!
