RALEIGH, N.C.
Leigh Anne Sims Ivey, 34, suffered a brain hemorrhage and died peacefully at the WakeMed Raleigh Hospital on Monday, January 11, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Burlington, N.C., Leigh Anne was a graduate of Walter M. Williams High School and Peace College. She was employed by Red Hat, Inc. in Raleigh as a Senior UX Designer.
Leigh Anne is survived by her devoted husband, Rich; parents, Celia and Roger Sims; brother, Michael (Randi) and nieces, Kristin and Katie, of Burlington; as well as mother- and father-in-law, Jan and Dick Ivey of Lynchburg, Va.; sister-in-law, Jennifer Mattscheck (Mike) of Charlotte; and nieces, Ivey and Madie. She will also be remembered by many caring aunts, uncles and cousins, her cherished friends and revered co-workers.
Leigh Anne and Rich adored spending time with friends, family and their precious Schnoodle, Frankie. They watched as many movies as possible, traveled, hiked the North Carolina State Parks, danced to David Bowie and spoiled Frankie to no end. Leigh Anne was thoughtful, beautiful, hard-working, funny and smart. She was committed to bringing good into this world.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leigh Anne's memory to the following organizations: SPCA of Wake County (spcawake.org), Dress for Success Triangle (dfstrianglenc.org), Women's Center of the Triangle (wcwc.org), LGBT Center of Raleigh (lgbtcenterofraleigh.com) and Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina (foodbankcenc.org). Arrangements are pending.

What an amazing personality! Leigh Anne taught me a lesson in how to be welcoming to someone you barely know. I started working with Leigh Anne in January of 2020 and she immediately welcomed me like a friend she had known for 20 years. We hung out at the Red Hat office in Raleigh for the first few months of 2020 and she completely brought me into the group. After we all went virtual she was the person that kept us all laughing throughout any tough times. She also always laughed at my jokes whether they were actually funny or not. I'm so happy I got to spend a year with Leigh Anne, I'll always remember how special she made everyone around her feel. Leigh Anne inspired me to make sure I let everyone around me know they are special and appreciated.

There are no words to express the sorrow we share. We lost our daughter to a car accident. Our Emily was 26. Leigh Anne left suddenly. She will always be a part of your lives and her memory will live in your hearts. God be with you today and the years to come.
