Robert Tyree Obituary

Robert Milton Tyree, 79, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007, in Lynchburg General Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Williams Tyree. Milton was a friend to everyone and was a loving husband, father grandfather and brother.
Mr. Tyree was born May 4, 1928, in Lynchburg to the late Robert Lloyd and Elizabeth Williams Tyree. He was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church. He graduated from E. C. Glass High School in 1946, and later worked for the City of Lynchburg until his retirement. He was a member of American Legion Post 16 in Lynchburg and Moose Lodge # 1727. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and completed his tour of duty as a Sergeant.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by three children, Deborah T. Farthing, of Goodview, Robert M. Tyree Jr., of Lynchburg, Mark A. Tyree and his wife, Terry, of Evington; one brother, Winfree Allen Tyree and his wife, Patricia, of Danville; two sisters, Frances T. Madison of Lynchburg and Uldean T. Wells, of Forest; four grandchildren, Hunter Alan Tyree, Robert Allen Tyree, Chynna Rae Gross and Lucky Ray Tyree.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2007, in Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Richard Woodall and the Rev. C. Douglas Pillow officiating. Full military honors will be provided by Lynchburg's American Legion Post 16. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2002, at Diuguid Waterlick Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Court Street United Methodist Church, 621 Court Street, Lynchburg, Va., 24505.
Diuguid Waterlick Chapel is serving the family 237-2722.

Mary: I did not see the obituary in the paper, but J.T. Campbell told me at church yesterday. So, we will be prayig for you. I am M/M Tanner's daughter and so many people on Brookville Lane are going home to be with their Lord. Evelyn Maxey, my sister passed away last August and I miss mom, dad and Evelyn so very much.
