Sandra Layne Obituary
Sandra Pugh Layne, age 73, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021.
She was born in Lynchburg on July 26, 1947, daughter of the late Roy L. Pugh and the late Lorice C. Pugh. In addition to her parents, two brothers, David Pugh and Phillip Pugh, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband, Nelson W. Layne Sr.; two children, Wendy Hines and husband, Jamie and Wendel Layne and wife, Carol; and a sister, Susan Hogan. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Whitten Monelison Chapel where a Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. with Dr. Derek Hamby officiating. Burial will follow at Briarwood Memorial Gardens.
If you so desire, memorials in Sandra's memory may be made to Centra Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center, 1701 Thomson Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501.

So sorry to learn that Sandra has passed. She was a sweet and loving person. We worked together at G.E
She was always smiling and so pleasant to be around. Was hoping that she would have a complete recovery, but GOD knows best. Her pain and suffering is over. My deepest sympathy and condolences to you. Love, Carol Clark & family.
