I was just thinking about Shirley McIvor and she was asst principal when I went to E.C.Glass and she was a wonderful woman and a friend I really loved her she was always so good to me! She did something really nice and special for me but that's between me and her! But there wasn't a better person than her! I just wish I could have seen her before she passed away and most of my family is in Spring Hill Cemetery and so will I be one day beside my mom and dad who passed away when I was a kid! But I will never forget her I used to go visit her at her house with her sister a long time ago I will always remember her she was a great asset to E.C.Glass and Lynchburg!

To any and all of us who attended Glass, Ms. McIvor was as sturdy a part of the school as the building itself. She will be remembered with fondness!

Dear Shirley, I'm so glad I was able to walk the last miles of your journey with you. It was my pleasure to be with you, had many great laughs and talks. I would always wear my dresses for you, because you would ask others "where is that girl that wears these pretty clothes" Shirley, I love you and miss you will hold you in my heart till we meet again. I pray you did find my parents and gave them my Message I whispered to you.
With love for you

My deepest sympathy to her family. Shirley was a big part of my life in the earlier years. We attended Sunday school together as well as school . Later we were neighbors and played bridge for many years. She will be missed by many people.

Miss McIvor was very special to me and all of my husband´s family. While I was a student at Glass she helped and counseled me. I always thought I could go to her with a personal problem. She even put in a personal call to Radford admissions when I was first put on the waiting list to recommend me and set up a interview. I was accepted. She and Evelyn were invited to all family weddings and were the "life of the party". Later I had the pleasure of playing bridge with her.
As was said in the obituary, she had a tremendous positive impact on thousands of students. Final note, I always loved her way out glasses.
