Virginia Dotson Obituary

Virginia Loraine Dotson

Virginia Loraine Dotson, age 75, of Gladstone died peacefully at her home on Sunday morning March 20, 2011. Virginia was born June 4, 1935, at Gladstone a daughter of the late Edward Witt Coffey and Annie Massie Coffey. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Terry Oliver Dotson, Sr. in 1992. A son Marion Wayne Dotson, two brothers; Hugh Showalter and Kenneth Coffey Sr, a sister Helen McCormick, a grandson Stedman Gray and a daughter in law Nina Dotson, also preceded her in death.

She was a private health care provider, a homemaker and a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church at Gladstone.

She is survived by her daughter Margaret Gray Layne, of Cullen, Va., three sons; Terry O. "Chuckie" Dotson Jr., of Chesterfield, Va., Alfred W. Dotson, of Appomattox, Va. and William Edward Dotson, of Orlando, Fla. Two sisters; Peggy Whitney of Madison Heights and Bernice Puryear of Appomattox and 15 grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday March 23, 2011 at 11 a.m at

Mineral Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Odell Coggins officiating with Interment in the Church Cemetery. The family wishes extend a special thanks to the Hospice of the Hill and Nurse Rose Ingle for her special care of their Mother.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and suggest that those wishing to make memorial contributions consider the Hospice of the Hills.
