Adrienne S. RODRIGUEZ

RODRIGUEZ - Adrienne S., 92, of Hampton, NH, formerly of Manhasset Hills, LI, on July 17, 2014. Adrienne was born in New York City on July 12, 1922, the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (nee Krepelka) Steidl. She was raised in Manhattan and earned her bachelor's degree from Hunter College in New York. She married her husband of over 45 years, the late Juan E. Rodriguez in 1946 and the couple eventually settled in Manhasset Hills, to raise their family. After working for a short time as an accountant, Adrienne earned her Master's Degree in Education from Columbia University, and began a career in teaching. She served as president of the Herricks School District and also worked as an Adjunct Professor of Education at Hofstra University. She taught in the New York City School System for over 37 years and retired from their guidance department in 1987. She and Juan loved tennis and co-founded the Shelter Rock Tnnis Club in Manhasset in 1959. Adrienne is survived by her son, Ronald D. & his wife Bonnie of Hampton and her grandchildren, Candida of Los Angeles, CA, Elizabeth of Ashville, NC and Cristina of Cambridge, MA; her sister-in-law, Valerie Steidl of Oceanside, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. In addition to her husband Juan who died in 1981, she was predeceased by her son, Daniel J. in 2003 and her brother, Kenneth Steidl, who passed in 1990. Private services were held in Hampton.
