I knew Gary in college at SUNy Stony Brook. He was my best friend there until I left in 82 for the USN. We lost touch after my wedding in 85. I am so sad for his passing and send all my love to his family. I truly wish I had done a better job at keeping in touch. He was a constant light of Humor and friendship. It was only because of reminiscing that I looked him yesterday and must admit hearing of his death stuck me hard. Again my prayers for Gary and especially his family.

I am Gary Rachlin´s brother, Harvey. Speaking for that part of his family, I am writing to say we remain devastated by his passing. Our hearts are broken, and not a day passes where tears do not flow from our eyes. We are crushed and no words can express the sorrow and emptiness in our family with his loss. He was the shining light of our family, a beacon of inspiration for us all. His beaming personality and golden smile will always light up our memories and hearts but our sadness prevails. He was on a path to make great accomplishments in his career and we will never know where he would have ended up. Our only consolation is that in the world he now occupies, we know he continues to help others with his customary great care, warmth and professionalism.

I still am saddened at the loss of such a wonderful human being . Dr. Rachlin was beyond a caring Dr. He was like a friend who always had time to listen, even if not a medical problem .. His professional and personal demeanor spoke volumes for who Gary Rachlin was . He came to visit my husband at home just to spend time with him.. We all knew he was at the end of life. Dr Rachlin spent 3 hrs just conversing with him & and comforting him. My husband passed the next morning. Peacefully and comfortably.. RIP. Dr. Rachlin. You are missed.

I was just thinking about you. Dr Rachlin believed in me as Nurse Manager at Massapequa Hospital. I went on to become a Family Nurse Practitioner thanks to him as my mentor. My condolences to his family. I miss you doc.

I continue t think of Dr. Rachlin. His example of caring and concern continues to guide me in my own practice and dealing with my patients. And you are now joined by your brother, a physician who seems to have been as incredible as you. Rest easy and continue to watch over your families.

I worked with Dr. Rachlin in 2009 for a short time and came to adore him quickly. His warm, gentle, caring nature was obvious immediately. Dr Rachlin was real and genuine with his patients. His presence in the office was a blessing. I was so shocked and deeply saddened to see this world lose a wonderful man...way too soon. My deepest sympathy to his friends and family. I am glad that I saw this guest book before it was too late. I will always remember Dr. Rachlin fondly. It was a privilege to work for him. I'm so sorry!!

Dr. Rachlin was incredible, clearly the best doctor that I have ever met: not only technically the most competant, but a warm caring individual. Deepest sympathies for the family and friends of this amazing man.

I just found out the news of Dr. Rachlin as I just called to make an appointment to see him. I have not seen him for several years, and he was the only doctor I had that knew me so well, would make jokes on my visit always listening to my concerns. I am heartbroken. Simply heartbroken. No other words...May his memory be eternal.

I met Dr. Rachlin as a fourth year medical student when he just took over Massapequa General(Mass Gen) Director of Medical Edcation position circa 1993. After rotating at Mass Gen, I decided to further my Post Graduate Education with a Rotating Internship at Mass Gen under his direction. Dr. Rachlin was well liked and will surely be missed. Doctor Rachlin was a beautiful soul everyone around him would warm to his smile. No matter how sick you felt or how hard you cried he would know just what to say and he did it with the kindest of hearts. Doctor Rachlin, was magic he was a wonderful father, doctor , colleague and friend. He did not put on a Doctor "act" as so many do and write while you ask questions an get ignored as other Doctors do. I told him that and he smiled I will miss him and I am so sad that I dont get to see him when I go to his office. Its devastating a lovely man .

We just heard the sad new of Dr. Rachlin's passing. We are both shocked and saddened at the loss of this wonderful man. He was a very genuine and caring person and always brought a smile to our faces. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, Dr. Crafa, staff and friends. He will surely be missed greatly. I'm devastated. Dr Rachlin was my primary until I moved to Augusta, Georgia in 2009. Not only was he a dedicated physician, he treated his patients as friends. Always had a hearty smile and good wishes for everyone he knew. May he rest in peace.

Dr Rachlin was a good Doctor and good person and friend. He has been my Doctor since 1998 /1999
I brought my Mother and Father to see both Dr Crafa and Dr Rachlin. Great Doctors!

My mother was a patient of Dr. Rachlin back in 2005-6-7. She adored him and just him being in her room made her feel better. Thank you for all that you did for her.
