CITTERBART - Jo-Ann of East Setauket, NY passed away December 14, 2017. She was 64 years old. Jo-Ann was born February 23, 1953 to Jean and William Citterbart Jr. Jo-Ann grew up in Bayside and Melville, NY. After attending Half Hollow Hills High School, she went on to attend Kenyon College and Drew University, doing graduate work at University of Minnesota before earning a law degree at Fordham. Jo-Ann practiced law for a number of years before joining the family printing business. In 2004, she reconnected with high school friend, Nicholas Rakovic and they were married in 2007. Jo-Ann had a lifelong love of singing, performing in choirs and choral groups throughout her life. For more than 10 years, Jo-Ann was a member of the New York City Bar Chorus, an ensemble of legal professionals dedicated to singing for seniors, the sick and others in need of musical cheer. In addition to contributing her considerable musical talent, Jo-Ann soon became a member of the chorus's steering committee and served as its chair for three years. Jo-Ann is survived by her husband Nicholas Rakovic, brother William Citterbart III (wife Barbara), cousin Susan Patrick & nieces Bonnie Lieu (Andrew) and Kerri Martin (Eric), and grandnieces and nephew. Visiting will be held at M.A. Connell Funeral Home, 934 New York Ave., Huntington, NY on Monday, December 18 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A service will be held Tuesday, December 19, 11AM at St. John's Episcopal Church (Huntington), 12 Prospect St., Huntington NY.
