To the whole McEnery family. I just heard of the passing of your dad. The memories I have of him bring a smile to my face...our dad's together would bring a smile to everyone's face! John was a wonderful, spirited man that my family and I feel honored to have met in life. So much fun over the years. I am glad I got to see him so recently as he came to my dad's funeral. What a special man. My thoughts are with all of you.

To the McEnery Family-my deepest sympathy.
From my youth (back in the 1960s) I have the fondest memories of your dad. Taking me to and from Sea Scouts meetings, making me feel at home when I stayed over night with Paul and Mike, and having great discussions about history and geography with him. Mr. McEnery, was such a great person.

I've known John since the 1990s online. I've long admired his faith and intellect and compassion. The world is a better place because of him. Condolences to all those who knew and loved him.

John, you were a teacher, but always still a willing student. My admiration doesn't come any higher than that.

To the whole McEnery clan - I am saddened by your loss - and am praying that the Lord would help you in the days ahead. Remember the good times - and all the fun you had. Think back to the days of the kharmann ghia! You are a strong family - your Mom and Dad raised you well. Stay strong and help each other through this. God Bless You all -

A sharp mind, with lots of humor and a caring person. John will be missed but surely remembered. My condolences to his "landlord" and other family members.

John and I were friends online in various faith-related newsgroups from 1999 to 2005 or so. I am very sad to hear of his passing, and offer condolences to his loved ones. Thank you John, for your wit and kindness, for your integrity and spirit of inquiry. I trust you are at peace with your beloved Mary, and if by chance you see Sunny Jim, give him a kiss for me :)

I've been a friend of John's online since 1996. He helped me through many tough times, made me think hard about spiritual and civic issues. He was always a witty and intelligent man, who expressed his care for everyone. I am happy he is with his cherished Mary now. My prayers go to his family. He shared pictures of y'all many times. I feel like I know you through him. Thank you for sharing this important news with us of the passing of this faithful man.

John was a cherished member of our newsgroup and will be sadly missed. His wit and humour kept all of us on our toes. He taught me much about his church and he wore his devotion and love on his sleeve. To his family...my deepest condolences. RIP Big John!
