John Mertz Obituary

MERTZ - John "Jack" on January 21, 2015 of Valley Stream. Proud World War II Veteran. Graduate of Hamilton College and Syracuse University. College professor of English and Debate at Duquesne University, Public Relations Executive, 7th Grade Teacher at Saint Boniface Roman Catholic School Elmont, actor of many off broadway plays and independent films. John will always be known for his generous heart and sharp wit. Beloved husband of Jeanne. Devoted father of David (Karen) and the late Stephen and Judith. Cherished grandfather of Stephanie and Alexander. Family will receive friends Sunday January 25, 2015 at The Moore Funeral Home, 54 West Jamaica Avenue, Valley Stream. Visitation from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. Funeral Mass Monday January 26, 2015 at 10 AM at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church Valley Stream. Interment to follow at Saint Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale.

Dear Jeanne, I am so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I have never forgotten the kindness and support you both gave to my parents.
