Joey was the best. We got into so much trouble together in Middle School and spent many hours in mega detention in Ms. Diton office for it. Last time I seen Joey was 6yrs ago in the middle of the night dropping off a video at blockbuster. He saw me across the parking lot and walked over to say hi. That was the kind of guy he was. I'll miss you Joey.

I worked with TJ while stationed at NAVBASE San Diego. He was a Top Notch Patrolman and took his job very seriously. I spent many nights riding with TJ on patrol and he was serious when he needed to be and a funny guy when driving around. He really loved playing softball and we had great times then too. Erin I am So Sorry for you and that Beautiful little girl. TJ loved the 2 of you more than you could EVER imagine. God be with you both and all our prayers are with you and the entire family. There was never a time I shared together with Joe O. that did not include a genuine smile and a warm hearted conversation. One of the nicest guys I have ever called a friend. Islanders hockey was mostly our topics but friendship was one of a kind. TJ truly became a family man and gentle soul with a loving family of his own. They were taken from us but their friendship will always be remembered with those genuine smiles.

Thomas was my son in law and when I met him I was so relieved that Erin found someone like him. He was so family oriented and very respectful to everyone around him. He taught my children about respect, Especially my sons Eddie and johnny and was always there for Christina as well. He was so great to my family. Each time we were together Thomas was kind and caring he treated us like we were his family welcoming all. A special remembrance was when my daughter gave Birth to his daughter Cecilia, we both witnessed her birth and he cut the umbilical cord, that was the happiest I'd ever seen thomas he was full of joy. When we got home that day there was a rainbow he said that was for Cecilia.Thomas only cared about being there for his family and never said no to anyone who needed help from him. Every one he worked with also loved him and couldn't say enough good things about him. I was proud of him at work he set a new standard of work ethic to everyone there, since we also worked in the same building together. He would always update me on what Cecilia and Erin were doing that day. I am going to miss him. We loved him and will always tell Cecilia how great he was.

I was stationed w/ MA3 Occhiogrosso (T.J.) in San Diego, Ca. from 2006-2007. Many of nights we stood in the cold, on watch and shared life stories, experiences, and laughter.

He was an awesome sailor and a wonderful friend. I will always remember his laugh, his parliaments and his love for his daughter.

My condolences to all of his family and loved ones. May God keep you all strong in faith and trust that T.J. is in a better place...In the name of Jesus

..You will be missed

I went to elementary school with Thomas (we called him t.j.). He was a great friend and a good person. Though we hadn't seen each other in some years, when I heard this news I was shocked and saddened. I will always have good memories of Thomas. My deepest condolences go out to the Occhiogrosso family.
