Uncle Dick was my Great uncle on my father's side... He was a kind and wonderful person I used to enjoy when he would come visit our family when I was a little kid. He would send us a hand drawn Christmas card every year... My parents house is full of his artwork.. the last time I seen him was at my uncle's wedding and he sketched a picture of my father.. I hope his Son's and family know how much we loved him...

he was my 10th grade art teacher....such a nice man & teacher. He did a pencil sketch of me. And he gave me 95's when I didn't even finish a piece of artwork. I remember him clearly, even now.

To the family of Richard Ericson:
Its been a year since Mr Ericsons passing and I unfortunealtely was not aware of his passing untill months later. I was one of Mr Ericsons mechanical drawing students many years ago, but was re-united with him when he called a local electrician (myself) and needed some minor repairs. From time to time Mr Ericson would give me a call for something and I always ran to help. It was nice just to sit and chat for awhile, he would show me some things he was working on ( drawing/paintings) or tell me about his kids. I truly enjoyed the occasional call, because it gave me the opportunity to catch up with him. On one of my last visits before his passing, he gave me a card. It was about the size of a large business card with a reproduction of one of his paintings with some personal info on him. I believe he said one of his students made it up and gave it to him. I kept it on my office wall and after learning of his passing, keep it with me always.
Mr Ericson was more than an artist and teacher, but also a kind , soft spoken man who touched my life forever. He will be missed by me as well as his family. These times of Holidays are difficult times for the family, having lost my dad and more recently my younger brother, I know. My condolences again to the family of Richard Ericson and the warmth of knowing that their dad had touched the lives of many people.

Our condolences to the Ericson family on their loss. Mr. Ericson was a fantastic next door neighbor. His landscapes and seascapes of Long Island captured the beauty of the north shore.
