Ricky was a true gentleman. We were always proud to say he was part of the Gater Racing News family. He set the standards for auto racing journalists for many years. Ricky will be missed, but never forgotten in a sport he loved.

A few years ago my daughter Danielle, was lucky enough to write an article about Ricky Miller for Full Throttle Hot Rod Magazine. Ricky gave her alot of insight on his life as a journalist, writing for Gator Racing News. Which by the w...ay , alot of people didn't know he did. Ricky was a great inspiration for my daughter . Who was just starting out at the time. He become somewhat of a mentor to her . She could always count on Ricky for some great advise. I remember Ricky telling her to always be true to yourself and write from the heart. Ricky will always have a special place in our hearts, for his love of people and the sport of racing. At the time my daughter wrote the ariticle about Ricky she was only 14. Now at 17 she has her sights set on a career as a writer/journalist, Thanks in part to Ricky. We will never be able to pay him back for what he did, but my daughter will always follow his lead . Thanks !

Ricky will be missed by all of his friends and family. He was such a vital part of the Fire Department and the Racing world but has struggled with his health for many years. Rest in peace.
