Send FlowersCarol Ann Benjamin Brock, 86, of Liberty passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, with her children by her side.
Carol was born on June 25, 1939, in Wayne County, Indiana to Leslie and Mary Jarrett Benjamin. She attended Richmond High School. On August 29, 1959, Carol married her love, Virgil Darrell "Derby" Brock. She was employed at Kemper Cabinets for twenty-five years prior to her retirement in 2001. In her spare time, you could find Carol taking trips to the Casino or down to Whitewater to camp. She was an avid Indy car fan and enjoyed cheering for her favorite sports teams: The Bengals, Reds, and the Tennessee Volunteers. In addition, Carol enjoyed listening to Elvis as well as playing Poker, Euchre, Mahjong, and Bingo. Most of all, she adored being a grandmother and loved spending time with her close-knit family.
Carol is survived by her children and their spouses: Joseph and Adele Brock, Darrell "Hank" and Heather Brock, Becky Lynn Bishop, Julie Kay Cline, Robin Sue Napier; Grandchildren: Jessie and Matt Baker, April Philbeck, Kiane Shook, J.C. and Stephanie Ellison, Joshua Blevins, Rusty Brock, Samantha Ellison, Sabrina and Zack Freeman, Rachel and Sam Hille, Kayla Brock, Kelsee Brock, Kamryn Brock, Kadence Brock; Twenty great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Donald and Rita Benjamin, Jerry and Pam Benjamin; Brother-in-law: Bill and Marlene Brock; pets: Peanut and Gracie; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Virgil Darrell Brock, who died on June 2, 2007; Sister: Marilyn Turner; Sons-in-law: Tim Cline and Rick Waymire; Brothers-in-law: Brothers-in-law: Eldon Brock, Steve Brock, Ronnie Brock, Bill Turner; Sister-in-law: Ozella Hensley; Dog: Brandy.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty with Pastor Bobby Lee officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Salem Friends Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday evening, October 7, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association in Carol's honor.
