Christopher Jackson Obituary

Christopher Daniel Jackson passed away in Asheville, North Carolina on Sunday, March 20, 2016. He was 21 years old.

Born in Key West, Florida on October 25, 1994, Christopher was known for his infectious smile, love of adventure, and wry sense of humor. Christopher lived in Key West, Tampa, and Jacksonville, Florida before settling into Panama City in 2000 with his parents Rob Jackson and Cheri Boyle.

While in Panama City, Christopher attended Bay Haven Charter Academy and Rutherford High School, where he was a participant in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. After graduating from Rutherford in 2013, Christopher attended the United States Naval Academy, Gulf Coast State College, and Asheville-Buncombe Community College.

Christopher was a natural athlete. In 2012, he won the Florida High School State Diving Championship and is the only Bay County athlete ever to win that award. Christopher also loved excitement. He enjoyed snowboarding, dirt bike riding, skateboarding, jumping off of waterfalls, climbing mountains, urban exploring, and anything else that would give him a good story. Additionally, Christopher had a passion for music. He was a talented guitar and piano player.

Christopher was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Danny Boyle; his Great Grandmother, Mary Dean; his Great Grandfather, Frank Jackson of Glen Allen, VA; and his Great Grandparents Raymond and Mary Jacome of Middletown, RI. Christopher is survived by his parents, Rob Jackson and Cheri Boyle; his sister, Cayleigh Jackson; his grandparents, Louise Boyle, and Richard and Rosemary Jackson of Glen Allen, Virginia; his great grandmother, Theresa Jackson of Glen Allen, Virginia; his aunts, Dana Boyle of Snellville, Georgia, Tina Newsome, and Gina Davis; and his uncle, Scott Jackson of Glen Allen, Virginia.

A memorial service honoring Christopher's life will be held at Lynn Haven United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. The family will greet visitors immediately prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A private internment will immediately follow the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bay Education Foundation, 1311 Balboa Ave, Panama City, FL 32401 in the name of Christopher Jackson.

My son evidently became friends with Christopher during the later months of 2015 while attending a program in the Asheville area. Although they parted ways a few months later, they kept in touch because of their shared struggles with life. My son Alex was devastated upon hearing of Chris's passing, as Chris evidently made an impact as few others have.

Cheri,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Christopher's passing. I remember when you had him! You were super excited. I was in the NCIS Orlando office and you were in Key West. I cannot begin to imagine what you and Rob are going through, but please know you are in my prayers. May God provide you the strength, comfort and peace you are seeking through this difficult time.

With Deepest Sympathy,
Phyllis Underwood Wade

Cheri, this is Gary Sykes, Special Agent, NCIS, (Retired) and your former co-worker from Cherry Point, NC, from many years ago. I was informed of this tragic loss by another former NCIS SA, former co-worker and friend, Larry Gleisner. We are both terribly saddened to learn of this untimely loss. Since Larry has two children and I have three, we both can only try to understand the pain of such a misfortune. Our hearts are truely saddened by this news. I hope you find some comfort in knowing your former friends and co-workers still keep you in our hearts and memories. Larry and I both offer our sincere condolences and prayers of support to both you and Christopher's father, during this time.

Sincere regards,
Gary Sykes & Larry Gleisner

Rob and Cheri, You and your family are being lifted up in prayer during this time. I am at a loss thinking about this. Although we mourn and are sad about the loss of this young man, our God tells us to rejoice in all things. Rejoice knowing Chris is with our God. Rejoice on the memories that Chris has left behind. Rejoice that God is in control and provides comfort that no man can provide. You have a wonderful family and Chris is now looking down upon you and watching over you. I am saddened by this, but pray for God's strengthening in your lives now. God Bless your family.

To my beloved nephew, Christopher; the first to give me the honor of becoming Auntie Tina. Not another day will pass that I don't think of you and long to see your big, beautiful smile. You are loved beyond measure. You are missed more than imaginable. Your life more extraordinary than some will ever realize. You will forever have a piece of my heart. I will always love you. My comfort comes only from knowing you are with God now and I will see you again one day. Until then, Rest in Peace and help Popa watch over us.
