Larry Davis Obituary

God claimed a victory today when Larry Robert Davis went to be with Jesus. Larry was born in Opp, AL, and lived most of his life in Bay County. Larry was formerly employed by Davis Exterminators, and was Baptist by faith. He loved motorcycles, fishing, gardening, coaching soccer at Rutherford High School, and spending time with his family and friends. Larry's greatest pleasure came from coaching his grandchildren in soccer with his son. Waiting at Heaven's gate with his Lord and Savior were his grandparents, Daddy Guy and Two Mama Bailey and John, Sr. and Faye Davis and a special four-legged friend, Dixie Dance Davis.

He is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate, his angel, Debbie; his cherished son, John Paul Davis, his wife Heather, and their sons, Paris and Joey; his parents, Bob and Mary Davis of Panama City and Jeanette and Chuck Newman of Crestview; his siblings, Lorrie Godwin ( J.D.) of Altha, Steve Davis (Sharon) of Panama City, J. W. Newman (Tammy) of Panama City, Chuck Newman, Jr., (Roberta) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Barbara Monter (Jeff) of Warner Robbins, GA; Larry's sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna Manis (Brian) of Colorado Springs, CO; special friends, Shereesa Miller (B.K.) of Texas and Nancy West of Panama City; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Funeral services will begin at 3:00 PM Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Hankins officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Larry's name may be made to Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405. Asked to serve as pallbearers are John Davis, Steve Davis, J. W. Newman, Pat Johnson, Terry Jones, and Christopher Edmundson. Honorary bearers will be Chuck Newman, Jr., John Deegins, Jamie Meadors, Clay Hood, C. J. Newman, Chad Prescott, Paris Davis and Joey Davis. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Sekhon and staff, Dr. Ebrahim and staff, Dr. Nanfro and staff, Dr. Michael Taylor and staff, Nurse Tana and Nurse Heather at Bay Med, NHC Home Health Care nurses, Sally, Kristine and Liz, the Relay for Life (Eastside), and the Tyndall AFB Fire Department for going the extra mile.

If you get to Heaven before I do, it won't be long, my love. Debbie

While we will miss you terribly, we can take comfort in the knowledge you are filled with peace. Now comfortable and happily riding your motorcycle and running around with Dixie or on the soccer field. May God Always Bless You and Your Family.
